Fort Carson remembers 4 soldiers killed

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) -- Fort Carson is saying goodbye to four soldiers killed last month in Afghanistan.

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday afternoon for the soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Three of the soldiers were killed in a single insurgent attack on Aug. 1. Killed were 27-year-old Cpl. Jonathan M. Walls of West Lawn, Pa.; 21-year-old Pfc. Richard K. Jones of Person, N.C.; and 19-year-old Pvt. Patrick S. Fitzgibbon of Knoxville, Tenn.

The service will also remember 25-year-old Sgt. Matthew L. Ingram of Pearl, Miss. Ingram was killed Aug. 21 in Kunar Province when a bomb went off near his vehicle.
