COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Late Tuesday evening, County Clerk and Recorder Bob Balink released unofficial results from Falcon's Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District recall election held earlier in the day.

The election was called as a result of a citizen-initiated petition to recall President Janice Pizzi from the Board. Pizzi was elected in May 2008 for a two-year term.

Unofficial results show the vote was 405 in favor of the recall and 412 against the recall.

Voter turnout was 817 valid ballots cast out of approximately 3600 registered voters in the district.

The Clerk and Recorder’s Office stated that voters were able to vote in the election by requesting a mail-in ballot or by voting at the polling place Tuesday at the Community Center West building.

Official results of the election are required to be available no later than 17 days after the election and will be available on the Clerk and Recorder’s Web site at http://car.elpasoco.com/election.

Information provided by El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.
