DENVER (AP) -- A Denver man who pleaded guilty in the wounding of an 8-year-old girl has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Lujan was accused of firing gunshots from a car into a group of people in June of last year, injuring the girl.
He pleaded guilty to first-degree assault causing serious injury and attempted first-degree murder. He was sentenced Thursday.
Victoria Esparza pleaded guilty earlier to a charge of being an accessory and was given a 4-year deferred sentence. Authorities say the 21-year-old Esparza was in the car with Lujan.
