DENVER (AP) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is headed to a Denver health clinic to talk health care with Colorado Democrats.

Pelosi and Democratic Reps. Diana DeGette and Jared Polis are visiting the Stout Street Clinic. The clinic treats homeless patients and has received federal stimulus money to keep its doors open.

Colorado's congressional members from both parties say they're spending the August recess building support for or against the overhaul proposal looming in Washington.

Earlier this week, Pelosi held a roundtable discussion at San Francisco General Hospital. Democratic leaders say the plan would extend coverage to some 50 million Americans with no health insurance, while many Republicans say the plan is meddlesome and too expensive.
