RANGELY, Colo. (AP) -- A 1,330-acre wildfire burning eight miles southeast of Rangely in northwest Colorado is moving toward oil and gas pipelines and equipment and a research station.

Fire managers say the fire that's burning on private and public land had been creeping slowly but grew as winds reached 30 mph winds Wednesday afternoon because of thunder cells.

About 140 firefighters are battling the blaze. Three air tankers and two helicopters are at the fire.

Several power poles have burned. The fire is burning in sagebrush and fir, pinon and juniper trees.
