DENVER (AP) -- Companies and groups seeking stimulus money to expand high-speed Internet service in Colorado can get more information at four public meetings.

The governor's office is holding the 9 a.m. meetings every Thursday through Aug. 13 at the state Capitol. The meetings will be simulcast over the Internet.

About $7 billion is available to applicants nationwide to boost broadband access.

Federal agencies will award the money, but Colorado officials can offer input. State officials say they'll support proposals based on their sustainability, plus their ability to use existing infrastructure, help unserved areas and serve community anchors like schools, libraries and health providers.
