DENVER (AP) -- Xcel Energy crews are working to restore power to 12,000 customers after a powerful storm uprooted trees and snapped power lines in two.

Xcel spokesman Tom Henley says the utility plans to have power restored to everyone by Wednesday evening in Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, and Arvada.

He says as many as 90,000 homes and businesses lost power after Monday night's storm. About 25,000 of those still didn't have power Tuesday evening.

The storm that included two weak tornadoes and a possible microburst tore through the southern and western Denver suburbs.

Minor injuries were reported because of broken windows but Wheat Ridge police say no one was hospitalized.

The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association says it will be days before officials determine the extent and cost of the storm's damage.
