COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Colorado Springs police say a 4-year-old girl suffered second-degree burns when rubbing alcohol ignited as two other children were playing with a lighter.
The girl was taken to The Children's Hospital in Denver after she was burned on her legs and her right arm Tuesday.
Police say a 9-year-old boy was playing with a lighter and a can of hair spray when a younger boy threw an open bottle of rubbing alcohol toward him.
Police say the alcohol splattered onto the girl, who was standing near the 9-year-old, and caught fire.
Authorities say adults were in the home but the 9-year-old kept the lighter hidden, and police do not suspect neglect.
