COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Just before 8 p.m. Monday, Sand Creek officers were dispatched to 2132 E Boulder, Boulder Height Apartments, on a call of a man shooting people. Information was given that the suspect shot a male and female, then ran from the area.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect shot a female in the right arm and a male in the lower part of his face. The victims were transported to Memorial Hospital by a friend.
The female underwent immediate surgery for a gunshot through wound to the right arm and chest. She was last listed in critical but stable condition.
The male victim was still undergoing treatment at the time of this report.
Indications are the suspect and victims are roommates. The reason for the disturbance is unknown. Canine officers responded and searched the area for the suspect.
The suspected shooter is described as a white male in his mid-20s, 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt
The Major Crimes Unit is assisting in the investigation.
The identity of the victims has not been released.
