CANON CITY, COLO. -- The Cañon City Police Department in cooperation with the Office of Probation for the 11th Judicial District and A Step’ In Stone of 431 Harrison Avenue announce a new Graffiti Removal Project that will be staffed by early teen and young adult volunteers from Probation and A Step’ In Stone.

Homeowners or business persons who own property that has been damaged by graffiti may call the Cañon City Police Department at 719-276-5600 and request a Graffiti Removal Release Form be delivered to their home or place of business.

Once the department receives a signed release form, staff will arrange for the team to come and paint over the damage.

The team will be limited in paint color and may not be able to match the paint on a specific structure.

Property owners can purchase the paint themselves and the team will do the painting. Project coordinators ask owners to keep in mind these are volunteers and not professional painters.

The project is also sponsored by Sonny’s Ace Hardware, Home Depot and Sherwin Williams.

Call 719-276-5600 with questions about the project.

Information provided by Canon City Police Department.
