COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- FOX21's Rachel Welte sat down with Carrie Phelps from the YMCA to discuss tips for keeping both the mind and body healthy on the Monday FOX21 Morning News.
Phelps suggests the following:
1.) Accept your size: Love and appreciate the body you have. Self-Acceptance empowers you to move on and make positive changes.
2.) Trust yourself: We all have internal systems designed to keep us healthy-- and at a healthy weight. Support your body in naturally in finding its appropriate weight by honoring its signals of hunger, fullness and appetite
3.) Adopt healthy lifestyle habits
4.) Nurture connections with others and look for purpose and meaning
5.) Find joy in moving your body
6.) Eat when you are hungry and stop when your full
7.) Embrace diversity: Humans come in a variety of sizes and shapes
