KidsBlitz to hold enrollment fair on June 20
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- On Saturday, June 20, KidsBlitz is holding an enrollment fair for parents to apply for health care services for their children through Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) and Medicaid.
The location for the fair is Mitchell High School gymnasium, 1205 Potter Drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Trained staff will be on hand to discuss each program¹s services and eligibility requirements as well as assist families with the application process.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be present to provide physicals and immunizations for children up to age of 21.
Some families may receive temporary health care cards for their child the same day.
About one in every six Colorado children are uninsured according to the Colorado Health Foundation. However, with programs like Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) and Medicaid, all eligible Colorado children can access the health care they need and deserve.
KidsBlitz urges all eligible parents to attend the enrollment fair to learn more about these programs, apply for services and keep their children healthy.
Parents are asked to bring:
* Your child's birth certificate
* Your child's passport, state ID or school ID if he/she has one.
* Children 16 and older will need an ID if he/she has one.
* Your child's social security number.
* Your last paycheck stub from each job you work.
* Proof of address, such as a utility bill.
This event is sponsored by KidsBlitz, a project of the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved.
