COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Silver Key Senior Services, in collaboration with the Elevate Ministry at New Life Church, will help local seniors (60 or older) with various yard and home projects this summer. Seniors interested in getting help should leave a message for Silver Key Senior Services at 719-884-2360.

Silver Key staff will call to evaluate the project and confirm the date of the job. The first day of work is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2009.

Seniors are asked only to provide the materials (paint, lumber, hardware, plants, etc.) for the projects.

Projects include but are not limited to:

•           House painting

•           Yard\landscape work

•           Wheel chair ramp installation

•           Garden installation – therapy gardens or raised gardens

•           Household maintenance tasks

Additional work dates are slated for July 25 and August 15 and will be used as back-up dates if necessary due to inclement weather. Seniors need not be current clients of Silver Key and residents of the Knob Hill area are especially encouraged to submit a request.

The partnership will generate as many as 400 volunteers from New Life Church who will provide labor for seniors needing assistance with home and yard maintenance tasks.

Silver Key Senior Services provides the services that older adults need -- transportation, nutrition, home care, and more - so they can live the life they want, for as long as possible.

Silver Key is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that relies on donations from our community to serve older adults in Colorado Springs. For more information, to volunteer, or to make a donation, please call 719-884-2300 or visit us online at www.silverkey.org.
