MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A hiker has died while climbing one of Colorado's most difficult trails.

A heart attack is suspected in the Sunday morning death on the Manitou Incline. The man was not immediately named by police.

The El Paso County Search and Rescue reports that other hikers gave the man CPR Sunday morning after he collapsed. But the man died before rescuers arrived at about 9:40 a.m.

Manitou Incline in Manitou Springs has a vertical incline of more than 2,000 feet. It's considered one of Colorado's toughest hikes.
