Joseph B. Glass, president of Absolute Hardwood Floors, comments
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- FOX21 News has received the following written statement from Joseph B. Glass, president of Absolute Hardwood Floors, Inc., about the vehicle which was involved in Tuesday's hit-and-run collision on Mark Dabling Blvd. that resulted in the death of one woman:
"I have been contacted by various media outlets about the fatal collision on Mark Dabling Boulevard Tuesday morning. This is apparently due to the fact that the vehicle involved in the collision had decals on it that had my business name and phone number on it. This vehicle was sold by my company in 2006. At the time of the sale, I made an appointment with my mechanic, and the purchaser and I agreed that the purchaser would bring the vehicle to the appointment, when we would have some minor items repaired and finish removing the decals. However, the purchaser did not bring the vehicle to the appointment, and I never heard back from him. The purchaser wanted the decals removed, and I assumed he had completed that himself.
At the time of the collision, the vehicle involved in the collision was not owned or used by my company, or any person associated with my company. I do not know who the current owner of the vehicle is, nor do I have any information about the incident or the driver.
I do not intend to name the purchaser of the vehicle at this point, because I do not know if that purchaser is the current owner, let alone the driver at the time of the collision. I am certain the Colorado Springs Police Department can provide the name of the owner and driver of this vehicle.
I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of the other driver in this collision, and extend my sincerest condolences and sympathy to her family and friends.
