DENVER (AP) — A woman who received probation for punching an airline attendant is being held without bail until a Denver federal judge decides whether new assault allegation means she violated probation and should be sent to prison.
Thirty-six-year-old Christina Elizabeth Szele (ZELL'-ee) was arrested March 8 in Queens, N.Y. Authorities say she attacked her sister-in-law.
On Tuesday, Szele waived her preliminary hearing. The judge ordered her held without bail until her next hearing, which hasn't been set.
In February, Szele was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to interfering with a JetBlue crew member who tried to stop her from smoking.
Authorities say Szele shouted slurs and punched the attendant. The New York-to-San Francisco flight was diverted to Denver, where Szele was arrested.
