This solar-powered race car is just one of the fun exhibits at Saturday's "Kite, Wind & Sun Festival".
This weekend, Mother Nature takes center stage at the Kite, Wind & Sun Festival at Fountain Creek Nature Center. The festival is Saturday, April 25, kicking off at 10am and runs until 3pm.
It features exhibitions on kites -- how to make them, how to fly them, and how they work -- as well as presentations on wind and solar energy options. Our very own FOX 21 Meteorologist Tim Elbertson will be on hand to talk about the science of the wind, and how it affects our life along the beautiful Front Range of Colorado.
Admission is $5, and all proceeds go to funding future learning opportunities. Reservations are required if you're interested in participating in the kite building workshops. Call 719-520-6745 for more information.
Fountain Creek Nature Center is located at 320 Pepper Grass Lane in Fountain. For directions, click here.
