EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County road crews are reporting brutal winds and snow drifts in the eastern part of the County.
Due to whiteout conditions plowing on some major thoroughfares was impossible overnight. Some crews were diverted to more residential areas where streets are somewhat blocked from the winds.
El Paso County has 36 plow trucks and approximately 20 graders in service on this storm. All county roads are snow and icy. Winds are worst in the northern and eastern portions of the county causing dangerous whiteout conditions. Travel on these roads is not advised.
Reminder: All El Paso County government offices and facilities including Combined Courts, DHS, Clerk and Recorder and El Paso County employee medical clinic are closed today.
