STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Two brothers from Florida face assault charges in Colorado after a fight that authorities say led to the death of a Special Forces soldier.
Routt County District Attorney Elizabeth Oldham on Monday filed charges of second- and third-degree assault against 27-year-old Eduardo Capote Jr. and third-degree assault charges against 23-year-old David Capote.
They haven't entered pleas and their hometown wasn't immediately known.
Authorities say the Capotes got into a fight with Sgt. 1st Class Richard Lopez outside a Steamboat Springs bar in January. An autopsy report said the 37-year-old Lopez was struck twice in the face before he fell, hitting the back of his head on the ground and suffering fatal head and brain trauma.
