Collision happened on Pena Blvd. and I-70
DENVER (AP) -- Police say two taxicab passengers en route to the Denver airport were killed when the cab was struck by a suspected hit-and-run driver and the passengers were ejected.
Police say both victims of the Wednesday morning crash were women from out of town. Their names haven't been released.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the Freedom Cab minivan was northbound on Pena Boulevard, the heavily traveled road between Interstate 70 and Denver International Airport, at about 10:30 a.m.
Jackson says a suspect is in custody, but the suspect's name hasn't been released.
The taxi driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
