* "Safe 2 Tell," a nonprofit student crime prevention program, holds a presentation today with Gerald H. Phipps. The presentation encourages students to use their voices to make a difference in their schools. Safe 2 Tell has prevented 28 planned school attacks, including one in Canada, and 120 teen suicides. The event is funded by the Colorado Trust and uses the public's information to stop tragedies before they happen in Colorado Springs. The presentation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at GH Phipps Construction Companies, 496 Nevada Mesa View.
* The Colorado Springs Young Professionals holds its 4th Annual Toy Drive today. Donated items will be given to Christmas Unlimited, a local organization that empowers parents and strives to give children a happy Christmas. Last year more than 500 people attended the event. * The City of Colorado Springs has partnered with 21st Century Charter School to teach students how to swim. Fifth graders take swim lessons and receive completion certificates at the city's Aquatics and Fitness Center today from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
