COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The El Paso County Salvation Army officially kicked off its Red Kettle Campaign at the Antler's Hilton Tuesday morning.
The organization hopes to raise more than $600,000 from the kettles this year. There are nearly 90 containers across the city; some of them have credit card machines that will allow donors to use their credit or debit cards to support the campaign.
This is the Salvation Army's largest fundraiser of the year. It supports programs for the homeless and less fortunate at Christmas and throughout the year.
