FORT CARSON, COLO. (AP) -- The Army is holding a memorial service for a Fort Carson-based soldier from California who was killed in Afghanistan.

The service for 23-year-old Spc. Tofiga J. Tautolo of Wilmington, Calif., will take place Friday at Fort Carson.

Tautolo died May 27 from injuries he suffered when his vehicle hit an improvised bomb.

He was a member of the 4th Infantry Division's 4th Brigade Combat Team at Fort Carson.

Tautolo deployed twice to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. His first deployment was in Iraq on February 2008.
