COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police have identified the man who was found dead at a downtown hotel Friday afternoon.

According to CSP, 36-year-old James Klinger of Colorado Springs was found inside a room at the Clarion Hotel, off Interstate 25 and Bijou. Officers found him just after 12:30 p.m., Friday.

Police said it is believed Klinger died from an apparent gunshot wound. The Coroner’s Office has not yet ruled his cause of death, pending further investigation.

If his death is ruled a homicide, it will be Colorado Spring’s 9th so far this year.
