COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- For the first time in more than a month, gas prices in Colorado Springs have gone down.

That, according to AAA Colorado’s weekly gas prices survey.

The current average price for unleaded gasoline in Colorado Springs was listed at $3.52 per gallon, down two pennies from last week.

Although prices dipped slightly this week, compared to just one month ago, gas prices now are 36 cents higher in the Springs. On Feb. 6, the average price of gas in Colorado Springs was $3.16 per gallon.

So far this year, the lowest prices were reported in Colorado Springs on Jan. 23 when the average price was $2.76 per gallon. That means in 42 days, or six weeks, gas prices have risen by 76 cents.

When compared to the same time last year, the Springs average gas price is now 27 cents higher.

Gas prices in Colorado Springs remain below both the national and state averages, according to AAA. Colorado’s average is $3.57 per gallon and the national average is $3.73 per gallon.

As for Pueblo, the current average price for gas is $3.54 per gallon, the survey said. That’s down four cents from last week’s report.
