COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The debate continues to swarm about the future of armed teachers in schools across America. But according to Isaac Costley, Chief Master Instructor at Calvary Family Martial Arts and Fitness, the time to act is now.

"The fact is this is happening today," said Costley. "So we can't wait a year or two years, three years to address something that is happening this very moment. So we wanna give you options and choices as to what to do if you can't run."

Costley is offering free workshops every Saturday in the month of February for any school employee of El Paso County. The workshops include discussions about defense in addition to a hands on defense course.

"There's gonna be a part where they feel comfortable and not comfortable," said Costley. "I want to explore where that is and put you to that uncomfortable range. We're not gonna make you into martial artists. We wanna teach you things you can do today that will give you a successful outcome today."

El Paso County school employees can attend any class Costley offers Monday through Saturday.

"So it could be the principal, it could be the administrator, it could be the lunchroom official," said Costley. "If an active shooter comes inside of that school. Anyone could be engaged with that particular shooter. So we want to equipped them in case you don't have a firearm which is the case now in schools."
