COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested two kids in connection with a fire on a school playground in late April.
According to Colorado Springs Fire officials, two juveniles are in custody. Officials did not release any information about the two, but the term "juvenile" refers to a minor (17 or younger).
Fire crews were quickly able to put out the fire, which the two allegedly started on playground equipment at Martinez Elementary School on Vickers Drive April 25.
Officials estimated the damage at $6,200. The fire did not spread to the school, and nobody was hurt.
Officials credit the Safe 2 Tell program, a program that lets citizens anonymously report dangerous or threatening behavior, in helping lead to the arrests.
Both suspects have been charged with second degree arson.
