COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Two different students in two different parts of Colorado Springs both had scary run-ins with strangers.
The first was a middle school student walking toward her bus stop near the Buffalo Lodge Motel at 2 El Paso Boulevard.
As she walked a man stopped his car to wave at her and said "hey."
Colorado Springs Police officers said the girl called her mother, who told her to continue to the bus stop and wait there.
As the child sat waiting the man drove back around again and asked her if she needed a ride.
The girl said no, and that's when the man told her to get into the car.
Officers said the girl pulled out her phone and called her father, and the man quickly sped away.
The suspicious man was described as a heavy-set black man in his 40's wearing a black t-shirt and a dark baseball hat.
He was said to be driving a silver or gray minivan.
Another child reported a similar incident as she walked home from school.
Officers said the child was walking home from school in the 2500 block of Sonoma Drive when an SUV pulled up to her.
The driver asked her if she wanted $10 to get in his car.
A second student began walking toward the victim, and the suspect drove off.
This man was described as a bald, white man in his 30's.
He was driving a four door red or maroon SUV with tinted windows.
