COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The man accused of shooting and killing a Fort Carson solider last June has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to the 4th Judicial District Attorney.

It was June 2012, when police said Dwight Gordon, then 26, killed 23-year-old Kendrick James in a shooting at the Golden Cue Bar, located in the 2700 block of the Hancock Expressway, near Academy Boulevard.

Police said another person was also injured in the shooting. That person, later identified as a female soldier, was taken to Evans Army Hospital where she was treated and released.

Both victims were taken to gate four at the Mountain Post in a private vehicle. James, a male soldier, died on the way to Memorial Hospital.

Dwight was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. He pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder.
