MANITOU SPRINGS, COLO. -- Manitou Springs Police officers arrested a drunk man early Friday morning after he barricaded himself in an apartment with a woman and two children inside.
Officers said they went to the Mill Wheel Apartments around #;22 a.m. after someone called them saying 39-year-old Nathan Ownby was drunk and disorderly.
When officers got there, Ownby was not cooperative and, armed with a knife, barricaded himself in the apartment.
Officers tried negotiating with Ownby but couldn't get him to come out. Eventually, after securing the woman, officers went into the apartment and arrested him.
The two children, a 3-year-old and a 14-year-old, were not hurt.
Ownby faces menacing and failing to leave the premises charges, as well as a number of misdemeanors.
