CROWLEY COUNTY, COLO. -- A suspicious death in Olney Springs, Colo., prompted the Crowley County Sheriff's Office to request the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the case Tuesday, February 19.

Deputies with the Crowley County Sheriff's Office were called to a home/trailer in the 200 block of Schuyler Avenue just after 2:00 a.m. on February 19, where a deceased female victim had been discovered by family members. Police indicate she'd been shot.

The victim is identified as 29-year-old Tara Martinez of Olney Springs.

CBI has obtained a warrant for the arrest of the victim's boyfriend, William John Donnell III, for his alleged connection to Martinez's death.

Donnell is described as a white male, 6' tall, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen driving a dark green Pontiac Grand Am with gold rims and tinted windows (Colorado License Plate: 711-ZDR).

Donnell is considered armed and dangerous and should not be contacted by citizens if spotted.

Anyone with information about Donnell's whereabouts or the case is asked to call 911 or the Crowley County Sheriff's Office (719) 267-5235.

CBI continues to investigate the case in conjunction with the Crowley County Sheriff's Office and 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.

The case is now classified as a homicide investigation.
