COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police said he shot out the back tires of a theft suspect van.

At about midnight, police were notified of a possible theft in progress at O'Brien's Printing in the 1000 block of North 19th Street, south of King and 19th. According to the person who reported it, there were two men and two women removing scrap metal. The caller said it was an ongoing problem.

Police received a description of the suspects and the suspect vehicle. Minutes later, police were advised the van was leaving the area and that the driver had tried to run the caller over.

The caller, according to police, said he shot out both of the van's rear tires. Police were able to find the caller, Glenn O'Brien, along with the alleged suspect and suspect vehicle.

Police arrested O'Brien for Felony Menacing and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, both Class 5 felonies.

Investigation continues on this case, police said.
