PLATEVILLE, COLO. (AP) -- A Colorado State Patrol trooper is facing charges of careless driving causing injury after a crash that involved four vehicles and shut down a highway southwest of Platteville.
The patrol says trooper Brian McNulty was driving a state patrol sports utility vehicle Monday when he struck a pickup that was stopped at an intersection.
The pickup went into an oncoming lane of traffic and struck a car. Another driver swerved to avoid the crash and also hit the pickup.
According to the Greeley Tribune (http://tinyurl.com/ahhp84a), the driver of the car, Trina Colvin, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
A patrol spokeswoman did not return a phone call seeking more information.
