COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Thanks to fresh footprints in the snow, Colorado Springs police were able to nab two men who were stealing fron vehicles.

Police were called to the 900 block of Aragon Drive, near Research Parkway and North Powers Boulevard, at about 1:30 a.m. Monday on the report of vehicle burglaries. The person who reported the crime said he saw two men trying to steal items from the inside of vehicles.

The caller said they confronted the men but they ran away. Because of recent snowfall and fresh footprints, police were able to track and locate the men at a home in the 4800 block of Herndon Circile.

According to police, both men, identified as Clayton Romero and Nathan Roulier, confessed to breaking into the vehicles to try to steal valuables. Both were charged with First Degree Criminal Trespass, police said.
