COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- As the flu continues to affect more and more people, El Paso County Public Health is offering free flu shots for children.

The shots are available for children ages 6 months to 18 years old until supplies last. According to the Centers for Disease Control, children at that age are recommended to receive the flu shot.

Peak season for the flu is typically from January to mid-March, health officials said.

So far in El Paso County, one child has died from the flu and 92 people were hospitalized with flu-like illnesses.

To schedule an appointment, call (719) 578-3199.
