COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 42-year-old man has been charged with First Degree Burglary and Felony Menacing after police investigated a kidnapping report Monday evening.

Police responded to a home in the 900 block of North 19th Street just after 6 p.m., on the report of a kidnapping. According to police, it was reported that a suspect forecefully entered the home and made a female victim leave with him. Police also said it was reported that the suspect had a gun and knife when he entered the home.

The victim and the suspect had been in a relationship for about two years, police learned. After the Domestic Violence Unit responded, the investigation found the suspect drove the victim to an apartment in the 3600 block of Airport Road.

The victim was found safe, police said.

Police said the investigation found it to be less clear as to whether or not the victim went willingly with the suspect.

The suspect, David Crossley, 42 of Colorado Springs, was located and charged with First Degree Burglary and Felony Menacing.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
