COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police are searching for the suspect who is accused of walking into a woman's garage and punching her in the mouth.
Police responded to a home invasion in the 1400 block of Ledge Rock Terrace just after noon on Monday. Police said a man entered the garage while a woman was in it. He walked up to her and punched her in the mouth before fleeing the area soutbound, police said.
Footprints were followed to a wooded area behind the home on Territory Trail where a K-9 unit was called out. The dog tracked footprints to a storage facility in the 4900 block of List Drive, police said. At that facility, police said evidence showed the suspect entered the passenger side of a vehicle and left.
The suspect is described as a white man, five-foot-eleven inches tall and 170 pounds wearing a blue-hooded jacket and green pants.
Police said it was not believed the suspect was armed with a weapon.
