Chimney fire causes damage; injures firefighter

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A chimney fire at a duplex in Colorado Springs has left several people displaced Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out in the the 1300 Block of West End Avenue around 3:30 a.m. (near Broadway and S. 36th Street)

Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to other parts of the residence.

The people who live at the duplex were able to get out unharmed however one firefighter suffered injuries when part of a wall fell and hurt their leg. They were transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. The injuries are not thought to be serious.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
