Colorado Springs, Colo. -- A person in a wheelchair is hit at a busy intersection in Colorado Springs.

Authorities say it happened on the cross-streets of Austin Bluffs Parkway and North Academy Blvd around 2:00 p.m.

The victim has been taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

They say the driver has been cited for careless driving resulting in injury.

They also say the person in the wheelchair was in the cross walk, and speed and alcohol were not factors in the incident.

No names have been released.
