COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- There are new developments in the case of missing Colorado Springs woman Kara Nichols.

The 19-year-old was last seen October 9, 2012 near her home on Mission Road in the Cimarron Hills Neighborhood.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said Nichols has not used her cell phone since, and her Facebook also has not been updated.

"Unfortunately we have not gained all the answers that we need to," Lt. Jeff Kramer, Spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, said. "The real pending questing being 'Where is Kara and what has happened to her since October 9.'"

That being said, investigators have gained some ground.

They said they were able to identify and speak with one of the two brunette women, earlier identified as persons of interest.

"They had a chance to interview her two days ago, and at this time we are not releasing her name," Lt. Kramer said.

Kramer said his office is still looking for the second woman, who authorities believe spent time with Nichols on the day she disappeared.

Meantime detectives have, and are still looking into several leads connected to Las Vegas.

"There have been some postings that came up on different websites which had some pictures of her, one of those being an escort-related type of website," Kramer said. "The date of those postings are well after her disappearance."

Kramer said investigators have reached out to authorities in Las Vegas for help, although so far he said they have not been able to prove Nichols is in Nevada.

One things Kramer said detectives do know is that someone, not Nichols, used her name and her picture on at least one website.

Anyone with information on Nichol's whereabouts is asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555.
