COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- It's christmas come early for dozens of returning Fort Carson soldiers and their loved ones.

After months away from their families, 50 soldiers from the Mountain Post are welcomed home for the holidays.

Wednesday night marked the second homecoming for the 4th Brigade Combat Team 4th Infantry Division after 150 returned Tuesday.

A heartfelt start to the season, these men and women are finally getting to see their families again.

They arrived to find a crowd of relatives and friends some screaming with happiness while others were overcome with tears at the reality of their loved ones' return.

Sgt. Andrew Baldwin was excited to see his 9-month old daughter, and explained he was most excited to be home for her sake.

"I'd only seen her for a week after she was born so it's been 9 months," he explained, "I just want to play with her for once."

The Mountain Warriors partnered with three Afghan National Security Forces brigades and assisted in establishing a fourth brigade.

The 4th BCT's efforts oversaw the construction of 22 schools, 25 road projects, four canal and water sanitation projects, 13 medical clinics and 37 more infrastructure projects in the region.
