COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Memorial Hospital announced Monday it is closing its outpatient surgery department and other services at its Printer's Park Medical Plaza location for the week after officials discovered a water quality issue.

Officials didn't go into details about the issue but said it impacts hundreds of patients and dozens of employees.

Seventeen employees were treated for nausea and other symptoms after complaining of a strange odor and color in the water. All were treated and released.

Officials said they don't know when the quality issue began. They are working with patients to reschedule appointments.

As of Monday, they had hoped to have everything up and running by next week.
