COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers said a woman was hospitalized Wednesday after being attacked by her boyfriend.
According to officers, the woman told them 24-year-old Michael Rivera attacked her in Colorado Springs Tuesday, threatened her with a gun and took her to Widefield Wednesday, where the attack continued. She said Rivera also threatened to kill her several times.
The girlfriend escaped when Rivera fell asleep Wednesday evening and was able to get a relative to drive her to the hospital.
Officers said she had a broken nose and injuries from being strangled. They have not arrested Rivera yet but said he is 5'7" and weighs about 140 pounds. Officers believe he is armed with a gun.
