Update: Colorado Springs Police said the standoff ended after the suspect committed suicide.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Colorado Springs police surrounded a home Thursday night on the 3900 block of Thundercloud Drive near Rangewood Drive and Research Parkway.

It started around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, but is still going on right now.

Police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance.

A man barricaded himself inside the home. Police said he threatened to blow up the house and claimed that he had set up booby traps at entrances around the house.

Some neighboring homes were evacuated.

Thundercloud Drive is currently closed to traffic.

Rangewood Drive from Research Pkwy to South Contrails Drive is also shut down for safety reasons.

Police are attempting to negotiate with the man.

They said, the incident will likely continue for some time, so drivers and citizens are encouraged to avoid the area.
