COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- The youngest Romney son cooked up some lunch and heated up a crowd of about 50 campaign volunteers Thursday at the El Paso County Victory Center. The Republican presidential candidate's son, Craig, said he wants to help people see the soft side to his dad to compliment the "no-nonsense" Mitt we've seen in the debates.

"People know my dad through soundbytes and such," he explained, "as they see more of my dad, they're starting to see his true character and I'm encouraged by that."

Campaign volunteer Kristen Silvers said, "I think the impression in the media right now is that he doesnt have feelings he's more like a machine." She explained after meeting multiple members of the Romney family, she hopes Craig's message gets through to show the candidate's true character.

Craig added his dad, "is in this for the middle class" and "will do everything he can to help those families get back on their feet again."

The event was complete with meet-and-greets all around and finished with a burger barbeque. The family-style event gave Craig a chance to tell share some memories with the crowd.

His speech was peppered with witty remarks about Ann Romney's hope to "never again" campaign after the last election, and laughing over a comment made by his brother, Tagg.

The other brother told a radio host his reaction to President Obama calling their father a liar. He said he wanted to "take a swing" at the President. Craig laughed the comment off and added he's seen his brother throw a punch... and the president has nothing to worry about.

After the event, Craig stopped by the Arapahoe Victory Center for a similar event before heading to a benefit concert in Denver.
