A Colorado Springs man is dead following a motorcycle crash Thursday night.
The Colorado State Patrol said 39 year old Mark Alberts was leaving Monument on the southbound I-25 on-ramp shortly after 6:00. He was reportedly passing cars on their right when he lost control of the motorcycle and slid into a guardrail. Alberts, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol, drugs and excessive speed are all being considered as contributing factors, but the crash is still under investigation.
