COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A man who crashed a stolen car into a tree early Tuesday morning is behind bars.
Colorado Springs Police officers pulled 39-year-old Richard Davis over near La Salle Street and North Academy Boulevard around 1:42 a.m. after the license plate reader notified the officer that the car was reported stolen.
Davis sped away after the officer approached the car. The officer chased him into a neighborhood, where the chase was stopped.
Davis then crashed into a tree on Deepgreen Lane.
Officers found Davis and arrested him for vehicular eluding and other traffic-related charges. Davis went to a hospital for minor injuries before being booked in jail.
