SECURITY, COLO. -- One woman is dead after an early morning house fire in the Security-Widefield area.

The fire started around 1:15 a.m. Thursday at a home on the 400 Block of El Cielo Vista Street.

El Paso County Sheriff's deputies said a family of six lived in the house. A 64-year-old woman did not make it out.

The five others who were inside at the time were able to escape. Officials said a 15-year-old girl was treated for burn injuries to her arms and forearms. An adult female was treated for burns to her feet, and a six-year-old boy was treated for smoke inhalation. Two other adults escaped unharmed.

The house is a total loss.

Classmates of the 15-year-old have already stepped up to help.

"My club Diversity at Mesa we are putting together a fundraiser," James Long, a student at Mesa Ridge High School, said. "I'm taking in clothes that people might not wear and I'm taking cash donations or food, whatever anybody can bring in that will help."

Long said in just one day he has raised $75 for the family.

"What I'm telling people is if your lost your house what would you want?" Long said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
