PUEBLO, COLO. -- A 21-year-old man convicted of killing a teenager in Pueblo has been sentenced to 48 years behind bars.

District Judge David Crockenberg sentenced Arien Rivas on Friday for the shooting death of 18-year-old Joshua Abeyta at a party in July 2010.

Rivas was found guilty of second-degree murder in August.

Investigators said Abeyta was shot as he was fighting one of Rivas' friends at the party.
