PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- The Pueblo City Council has revived a proposal to let city employees have same-sex domestic partners added to their insurance less than a week after it was rejected.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports that a public hearing and final vote is scheduled for Oct. 9. Councilmembers at a study session Monday say they previously rejected the proposal because of unanswered questions, not opposition.
Councilman Chris Nicoll says he couldn't support the measure without knowing how much it would cost.
City personnel director, Marisa Walker, says the ordinance won't increase insurance rates though enrollment might increase 1 percent and cost an extra $54,000.
